Don’t miss HEDONIX's set made very special for radiOzora on 16th November 2013 Saturday 8pm CET on the Trance channel.
Robert Dilley and Steve Zanuttini formed the Hedonix project in 2002 a few years after finishing their studies in Audio engineering and acquiring enough synthesizers and equipment to build a small home studio. Having grown up listening to psychedelic rock music from the 60’s and then entering the world of raves and wharehouse parties at a young age, they soon discovered artists such as Hallucinogen, Astral Projection and Eat Static and began attending every psychedelic trance event they could find around their home town of Sydney, Australia. The music they first experienced at these events at the beginning of the millennium still has a major influence on their music to this day, particularly the early progressive and minimal sounds from labels such as Creamcrop and Iboga , as well as pre-2000 Goa trance which first turned them on to the genre. From the beginning, Hedonix have never been able to stick to producing only one particular sub-genre of psychedelic trance. Their music has ranged from dark progressive and psychedelic minimal to quirky, funky melodic morning grooves and epic goa trance. Even when trying to make a specific style the influence from other styles will inadvertently creep in, resulting in a unique blend of styles which has gained recognition as the trademark Hedonix sound. As a result of this versatility their music has been released on a range of different labels such as Cosmic Conspiracy Records, Vertigo Records, Glitchy Tonic, Ovnimoon and most recently Phantasm. However their primary allegiance has always been with Electric Power Pole Records, on which their two albums ‘Order out of Chaos’ and ‘Guerrilla Ontology’ were released. In between bookings, Hedonix are currently very busy in their studio creating a number of special request tracks from various record labels and working on collaborations with Minimal Criminal and other artists. They will soon start to work on an EP for Phantasm records and are hoping to get started on a third album in 2014. Steve has also started a side project called Zombie Apocalypse together with Rob’s younger brother Mat and Daniel Cavagnino. This project is a mixture of dark electro, minimal techno and progressive trance and is very influenced by 1980’s horror and zombie movie soundtracks such as George A Romero’s living dead trilogy. This Radio Ozora podcast is an exclusive mix of tracks from our recently released album Guerilla Ontology, some unreleased tracks and 2 slightly older classics.
