Quantica is a psytrance music project based in Ibiza, Spain. His style is a smooth blend of psytrance, full on & progressive.
Eric Mokotoff, the producer behind Quantica is a musician from Buenos Aires. During the first part of his musical career he played guitar in many bands, playing Rock, Pop, Jazz, Funk, and Reggae.
In 1996 Eric made contact with the Ibiza’s underground “goa trance” scene instilled a passion for the genre and inspired him to start djing in early 97.
At the end of 98, went back to Buenos Aires to spread the psychedelic trance culture, then became part of the pioneer argentinian dj team called “Terrestres Anonimos” (Anonymous Earthlings). After few events, the south american jungle calling, bring him into a self discovery journey, to finish playing in clubs and parties around Yucatan area (Tulum, Palenque, Playa del Carmen & Cozumel).
In 1999 Eric moved back to Madrid, where joined forces with local event organizers, to keep spreading psychedelic trance music. Due his fresh dj sets and his enthusiastic personality, quickly became one of the favorites at the local scene, playing in countless underground parties & clubs around the country.
In 2001 Eric faced a new challenge, he started to produce his own psychedelic trance music. Back to the white island after several years of sound experiments, his Ibiza’s neighbor Martin Brooks joined to the project, then the tandem released the first Quantica EP called Psycoactive. In 2007 they released their first album Astrobiology with a great feedback and receiving excellent reviews around the world. Seven months later they released the second album Digital Voodoo, consolidating their own identity and sound. After some travels around Asia, Martin left the project while Eric goes ahead making friendly psychedelic music and touring Quantica. In 2009, he released the 3rd album entitled Groove & Roots… In 2010 Released Galaxy, compilation of previously released tracks along 2008, 2009 & 2010.
In 2012 Eric co-founded Flying Spores Records, opening the releases list with the 4th Quantica’s Studio Album called Drops of Light, an album that is still reporting new lovers..
In 2013 Quantica climbed to the highest chart positions with his last EP entitled Science Freaktion. Few months ago he did again with his track called The Quiet Shout of the True, becoming the top sold track released by Flying Spores for the time being.
Eric is also responsible of several mix/master for many artists and labels, as well is involved in various projects, audio production courses, scoring music for 3D animation, multimedia projects, movie soundtracks, website sounds, etc.
Quantica is currently cooking up a bunch of new tracks in collaboration with Bill Cosmosis, soon-to-be-ready.
